Your Climate Change Story

Video Competition

In 2018, the COP23 Presidency joined forces with the United Nations Development Programme and the Userfarm to launch the YOUR CLIMATE CHANGE STORY video competition.

We asked filmmakers to help the political leaders participating in the UN climate negotiations to better understand what climate change represents for people across the planet and how people are stepping up to tackle this great threat to humankind.

The competition was inspired by the Talanoa Dialogue, a UN-mandated process to take stock of global efforts to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases and to build greater resilience to the impacts of global warming.

Filmmakers and storytellers from around the world responded to our call, delivering an overwhelming array of creative ideas and original insights.

In the end, we received 118 videos from 31 countries, including the United States, Canada, Kenya, Australia, Mexico, Fiji, the Philippines, Greenland, Scotland, Brazil, Argentina, Namibia, Italy, New Zealand, Madagascar, Spain, Algeria, India, Sweden, Bulgaria, Hungary and Iceland.
