Event Notes: Much is being done to finance the clean energy transition; however, there is still a long way to go. Incremental change will not be sufficient to deliver a clean energy transition at the speed and scale needed to reduce fossil fuel investment, to increase investment in renewables and to generate funding for low-carbon technologies such as EV charging stations and infrastructure for transport, buildings and industry. The single most important challenge to aligning the world with a well-below 2°C trajectory is to make clean energy systems more investable by the private sector, and for this to happen quickly and in a way which is scalable. The panel will look at the current state of play and the panellists will be invited not just to set out the problems, but to be specific and solutions-focused and to tell us what’s going to make the biggest difference to driving the clean energy agenda.
